CHILD LABOUR

The peeping of the sun from the mountains
The raining of water from the fountains
The falling of leaves from the tree
And the chirping of the birds so free
All appear so beautiful, as they say
With a voice so loud and gay...
"Run with your happy feet and great lush
Come and enjoy this moment with us."
Hearing this I lose my control
I step forward but suddenly I fall
I cry and down my cheeks the tears roll
As I hear the laughter from all.

Oh! my feet tied with a chain
Shows that freedom I can never gain
My shoulders that carry the great heavy load
Make me a responsible unhappy toad.
Is poverty the reason behind this uneasiness
Which makes me feel this restlessness
To shout, run about and dance
Upon this so called chance
To climb up the mountains so high
To touch the sky but then again I sigh...

No one cares for me,no one understands myself
Never wanting my childhood to go, I cry for help
I crave for freedom and the world's bliss
Relieve me from this burden and fulfill my wish!
